Wooden Bridge Competition: SQU Teams Bag Prices

 

SQU teams bag two first places and a second place, which is a record in the history of this competition.

Students of the Civil and Architectural Engineering Department at Sultan Qaboos University brought accolades from the 9th Annual Wooden Bridge Competition, which is held annually in the American University of Dubai with the participation of many universities from the United Arab Emirates and the GCC countries. SQU participated in this year's competition by three teams of students from the Civil and Architectural Engineering Department at the College of Engineering under the supervision of Dr. Sherif El-Gamal, Assistant Professor in the department.
This year's competition included two main categories: Load Efficiency competition and Target Load Capacity competition. Two out of the three SQU teams got the first and second places in the Load Efficiency competition. In addition, they got the first place in Target Load Capacity competition, which is an achievement that was never achieved by any university through the history of this competition.
