Conference dates: Arrivals: Friday 20 January 2012. Conference working days: Saturday 21 – Wednesday 25. Departures: Thursday 26 January.

Note that in Oman the weekend is on Thursday and Friday.

Deadlines: Registration: 31 October 2011. Abstract submission: 30 November 2011

Excursion. The conference excursion will be on Monday 23 January. The details are still to be decided, but it may include a selection from the following: visit to the Grand Mosque, fish souq, Muttrah Souq, Muscat old town, Nizwa, Jibreen fort. Note that for the visit to the mosque you must be dressed conservatively; women should be covered from neck to ankles and wear a headscarf which covers all hair.

Language: The official language in Oman is Arabic, but English is widely spoken. The conference language is English.

Currency:  The currency of Oman is the Omani Rial (OMR) and is fixed to the American dollar. The exchange rate is 1 OMR = US$ 2.6.
