Question: How do I obtain my Visa? Answer: After you submit the necessary documents as mentioned in the website http://www.squ.edu.om/Portals/87/Conference/ICAA10/Conference2010/Visas.html, the organizing committee and SQU will follow up the process of obtaining your visa. Once we obtain a visa for you, we will send you a copy by email. The original one will be left at the airport one day before your arrival. The deadline for accepting/processing your (the participants) visa application will be January 5th.
Question: Is someone going to meet me at the airport? Answer: Sultan Qaboos University is offering a free ride from the airport for all conference participants if they provide the flight number and the time/date of arrival 2 weeks before arrival. In the first week of January, you will receive a template asking you about the arrival information, which you need to complete and send back to Dr Kerbal (skerbal@squ.edu.om). However, if for some reason, you don’t find someone waiting for you, then it is easy to take a taxi. The airport is close to the university and to most hotels, and taxi fairs are not expensive (5 to 7 O.R. =13$ to 18$).
Question: Are you going to have conference proceedings? Answer: There will be no conference proceedings. However, SQU Science Journal welcomes the submission of your manuscript through the regular submission process. Question: Are we going to have an excursion? Answer: An excursion to the city of Nizwa is planned on Wednesday, January 27. The cost for the excursion is 12 O.R. ($30 US) which covers the transportation and the lunch. If you are interested in this excursion, you need to register and pay the fees at the registration disk.
Question: Are we going to have a banquet? Answer: Yes, we are going to have a banquet at Crown Plaza hotel in Muscat (Monday 25th, January. Dinner at 7:00PM). The registration fee cover the banquet for participants but not for accompanying family members. The cost for family members who like to attend the banquet is 17 O.R. ( $40 US) and must be paid at the registration disk.
Question: Are you going to have an LCD projector in conference rooms? Answer: Yes, we have LCD projectors connected with a laptop (Windows, Power Point, PDF reader). If you feel more comfortable with your laptop, then you can bring it with you, connect it and use it. Also, we have an overhead projector and a white board available in each conference room. If you have a special request other than those, please let your session organizer know about it.
