- Conference banquet dinner at the Crown Plaza Hotel in Qurum is scheduled for
19.00 on Tuesday 24th February 2009.
- Day 4 of the conference, Thursday 26th February 2009, will be devoted to
the social program. Two day trips are planned. Participants are asked
to choose one of them by Friday 20th February, in order to
arrange transport. The two trips are:
- Muscat sightseeing: Participants will be taken to visit important tourist
locations in the Governorate of Muscat. Both historical and modern
locations will be visited and a light lunch will be served during
the trip.
- Al-Hooti cave: Participants will be taken to visit Al-Hooti
cave, which is a very big underground water conduit, and gives a
very good example of water conduits in karstic aquifers. The trip
also includes a visit to the city of Nizwa, the historical
cultural capital of Oman, and if there is time visit two forts of historical importance
to Oman.
