Welcome to the website of the College of Agricultural and Marine Sciences, one of eight colleges at Sultan Qaboos University. This website is designed to introduce the College, its educational programs, and research activities, and to give pointers to where further information can be found.

Our vision is to be the top agricultural and marine sciences college in the Gulf region, recognized internationally. The mission of the College is to provide the Sultanate with qualified manpower to agricultural and fisheries sectors. We are concerned with sustainable utilization of the Sultanate’s renewable resources for food production and the processing of food.

We offer American plan undergraduate and graduate programs in a range of agricultural, food, marine and fisheries sciences. We provide our students with world class training for life in a pleasant and stimulating atmosphere that encourages enquiry, commitment and excellence. Our faculty and staff conduct basic and applied research in the sustainable use of renewable resources for food production and processing, and disseminate research outcomes through scientific publications, international conferences, workshops, short courses and seminars. We are proud to have the highest per capita rate of research funding and peer reviewed publications in the University.

In addition to teaching and research, the College is active in community service, especially as specialist consulting and extension services to ministries, industry, farmers and fishermen.
