The department of Anaesthesia & Intensive Care provides twenty four hour elective and emergency anaesthesia services to the entire hospital, including referrals from other health institutions. We are also involved in inserting venous access devices, both implantable and percutaneous to patients from various clinical departments.
Pain management is part of the departmental functions with acute and chronic pain management services.
Cardio pulmonary resuscitation and Anaesthesia for Cardio thoracic surgery with post operative intensive care monitoring is also part of the department.
The department forms a solid part of Trauma and Disaster management.
We have now also opened the Pre Assessment Clinic(PAC) which functions on all weekdays
