Welcome Message: The Department of Mass Communication at the College of Arts and Social Sciences offers an excellent effort in its field. This is achieved through state-of-the-art academic courses at the level of BA and MA. The Department has an academic vision and a scientific message that aim at creating a generation of competent specialists in the field of mass communication. They can participate in shouldering the task of building the country and enriching the field of mass communication with their expertise and the skills that they acquire at our department. The Department is trying its best, through its academic programmes, to reconstruct both the national and regional mass communication systems. This is done on a transparent basis established between both academic staff and students, especially on issues related to establishing the professional personality that has the ability to deal with the modern trends in theoretical and technological issues. The Department also pays special attention to improving and upgrading the academic programmes as one of the strategies in the age of digital communication. For this reason, it became one of our policies to uplift the Department and make it among the best, both in the Arab World and on the international arena. The Department is also looking forward towards building bridges with other mass communication institutions both in the Sultanate and abroad where our students get their training.
