VISION

The short-term vision of the Center is manpower development which will lay the foundation for the effective research and teaching of remote sensing and GIS courses at SQU, and the establishment of an autonomous and financially self-sufficient entity in the near future. The Remote Sensing and GIS Center aims to become a center of excellence in the Sultanate and the region, and develop partnership with industry and government.

Mission

RSGIS Center’s mission is to provide interdisciplinary leadership in remote sensing and GIS through formal teaching, instructions, outreach programs, mutual research, and consulting. RSGIS Center aims to enhance the utilization of spaced-based technologies and solutions for natural applications as well as for disaster management and emergency response in the Sultanate and the region.
