During the past 20 years I have been productively engaged in research and demonstrated great interest and enthusiasm to pursue a PhD degree in Chemistry. My research interest is on HPLC techniques for identifying, quantifying and purifying mixtures used in analytical and biomedical sciences. I have trained and got experiences on how to run and maintenance of HPLC instruments. My training took place in U A E, Dubai (1998). I also was trained in Kuwait for Rapid Detection for Hazards in the Food Industry & Environment in 2002. I also examined the Effects Of Endurance Training On The Gluconeogenic Rate During A Glucose Challenge And An Exercise Stress, the result of that study have been presented at an international conference at Los Angles U.S.A.in 1990. At SQU, I have worked on the Application of the Instrumental Methods to the Determination of Solar and Non-solar Photoisomerisms and Photodegradation Products of Bilirubin

Hands on Experience, Training and Technical Tools
The Scientific Glassblower provides a variety of glassblowing services and consultation to customers in research and instructional laboratories at the University. The Scientific Glassblower also is responsible for managing the glassblowing shop, work orders, supplies, and equipment.
At SQU, I have taken a First-Aid course (2010) organized by the Centre for Staff Development. Also I have taken a cours of communication silks organized by Centre of Staff Development (2011).
Duties
- The design of custom research apparatus
- Precise dimensions of its parts
- Fabrication of the parts and their subsequent assembly into the completed piece of apparatus
- In addition, incumbents work with research personnel in the design of special apparatus for research purposes.
- Utilize a variety of teaching methods of how to handle glass and to shape it.

I have hands-on training and expertise in nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy which includes running of the 400 MHz NMR spectrometer situated in the Department of Chemistry. My training took place in Zurich, Switzerland (2011), I have presented at two international workshops. One of them it was about Hydrology: Nature& Engineering it was organized by Collage of Agriculture and Marine Science (SQU), Water Research Center(SQU) and Ministry of Regional Municipality And Water Resources (2011) , Another one also took place in collage of Agriculture and Marine Science(SQU) on Food, Nutrition in Health and Disease.

My research interest is in Natural Products and GC-MS techniques for chemical analysis of various types of products.
I am confidently able to operate, calibrate, diagnose, and repair several analytical instruments such ICP-MS, GC-MS, GC-FID, FT-IR, HPLC, IC, AAS, UV-VIS, but highly experienced in Gas Chromatography – Mass spectrometry (GC-MS). My GC-MS training took place in Kyoto, Japan (2002 & 2008).
I have presented my research findings at two international conferences, one in New Delhi, India (39th IUPAC congress, 2004) and the other one in Beijing, China (40th IUPAC congress, 2005) and published several papers.
I am an active member of several national committees such as National Technical committee for Chemical management, Task Team on Socio-Economic Aspects of POPs in Oman and Task Team on Socio-Economic Aspects of Mercury pollution in Oman.
In 2010, I successfully represented the Sultanate of Oman in the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) Associate Programme 2010.
