
The main aim of this program is to prepare qualified History teachers to work in basic, secondary and Basic Education schools.
Graduates of B.Ed (History) must complete 132 credit hours of course work over eight semesters, consisting of 18 hours of general cultural subjects (University requirements), 78 hours of specialized academic instruction in History subjects (Departmental requirements) and 36 hours of educational and psychology courses (College requirements).
Students receive practical training in the preparation of instructional material and the use of educational media through the laboratory facilities available in the University. Field training in the form of teaching practice in both general and basic education schools is also required.
Graduates of this program may expect to find work as teachers of History in the general or Basic Education schools or in the private education sector.
