
The aim of this program is to prepare qualified teachers to teach Islamic Education in Omani schools. To this end, graduates are required to complete 132 credit hours of study, consisting of 78 hours of specialized academic instruction in Islamic Foundations and Sharia, 36 hours of educational subjects (College requirements) and 18 hours of general cultural subjects (University requirements).
While holding fast to Islamic principles and teachings, the program aims to produce enlightened graduates who are able to view the traditions of Islam in a contemporary perspective.
Opportunities for graduates in this specialization are to be found in government and private schools, as well as other government institutions.
