In line with the vision of the college of education, the office of the Assistant Dean for Post Graduate Studies and & Research (ADPGS&R) strives to be a regionally recognized model for promoting excellence in research and postgraduate studies in all relevant fields of education. The mission of the ADPGS&R office is to facilitate the construction, application, and dissemination of knowledge. Currently, the office of ADPGS&R supports and administers 10 Masters Programs and two Post Graduate Diplomas in the areas of Curriculum and Instruction, Psychology, School Administration, Sport Sciences, and Islamic Sciences with a total intake of 262 students in the masters programs, and 150 in the post graduate diplomas. In addition to conferences and symposia, the ADPGS&R organizes weekly college seminars. One of the main purposes of these seminars was to enrich the academic culture of shared cognition by giving opportunity to the visiting consultants and senior researchers to share their ideas, research, and experience with their colleagues and postgraduate students in the college.
Furthermore, the ADPGS&R office provides administrative support for over 20 research projects funded from internal grants, his Majesty Trust Fund, and the Omani Research Council. Most of these projects are long-term and multidisciplinary in nature involving various departments in the college, and some departments from other colleges as well.
