The College of Commerce & Economics (CCE) provides high quality educational programs in Business and Economics focusing primarily on undergraduate instruction. With over 107 instructors and more than 2320 students, the College offers undergraduate programs and awards the degree of Bachelor of Science in one of the following majors: Accounting, Information Systems, Economics, Finance, Marketing, Management, Operations Management, and Business Statistics. In 2004, the College started its three-year, part-time MBA program. The primary objective of the MBA program is to provide students with advanced management knowledge and educational experience in essential functional areas of business. Furthermore, the College has conducted a new 2010 Degree PLan which gives students a variety of options through having a major in one of above subjects and a minor in one of two options: Economics or Inofmration Systems.

It is the aim of this College to prepare students to become the business leaders of tomorrow. Our Mission, therefore, is to educate, train and continuously develop Omani youth in order to provide the labor market with highly needed managers, professionals, and business specialists who can contribute to the social and economic development in Oman. This College, therefore, aims to provide educational programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels that prepare students for the increasingly complex and globally competitive environment of the 21st century. The CCE also endeavors to be recognized as a leading college in the Middle East, meeting the international standards for excellence in Business and Economic education.

Our Strategy to best achieve this mission is to (1) establish up-to-date and effective academic programs; (2) develop students’ skills, personalities and leadership capabilities; (3) build strong and positive links with governmental institutions, the business community in the country, and with regional and international institutions.

Our Objectives are to offer quality education to our students, develop student’s leadership and managerial skills, integrate creative thinking and problem solving in the curriculum design, provide state-of-the-art education and research facilities for students and faculty, improve the learning resources for students, encourage community services by students and faculty, build strong ties with public and private institutions, retain highly qualified faculty and staff, promote basic and applied research, seek international accreditation and recognition, and continually improve the quality of teaching, research, and service.
