About the College

Welcome to College of Engineering at Sultan Qaboos University (SQU). Whether you want to be an engineer or like to be involved in the college, we hope that you will be satisfied by visiting our college. In the College of Engineering we are striving to achieve our vision of being an outstanding educational and research college in the region. The College of Engineering is the top Engineering College in Oman and offers strong undergraduate programs in architectural, chemical and process, civil, electrical and computer (Communications & Signal Processing), (Power & Systems Energy), (Computer Systems & Networks), (Electronic Instrumentations and Control), industrial, mechanical, mechatronics, and petroleum and natural gas engineering. The college also offers a joint Bachelor program in Agricultural Engineering with the College of Agriculture and Marine Science.

 
All The College of Engineering academic programs are officially accredited  by the Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC) of ABET, Inc. in 2014 which are   Architectural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering , Electrical & Computer Engineering, Chemical & Process Engineering and Petroleum & Natural Gas Engineering. 

 
The College has steadily increased its new student admission. The number of students admitted in the first batch in 1986 was 86 students, while  around 500 students were admitted in 2015 with about 20% being female students.   The number of new admissions has more than doubled over the last ten years. The student enrollment in the College is now more than 2900 students with around 120 in Master programs and nearly 20 students in PhD programs. The College has graduated more than 5050 students since the establishment of the University in 1986 and are now working as engineers in the different sectors contributing in building Oman and its economy.
