MISSION

The Department of Family Medicine and Public Health endeavors to provide excellent primary health care to students, staff of the university and their dependents. The aim of demonstrating excellence is so that undergraduate and post-graduate students and doctors, from both inside and outside, can learn excellent Family Medicine from our department and can observe in it operation. Excellence in research can help us to keep improving clinical care for our patients.

VISION

An academic stature department of national stature where patients of all socioeconomic backgrounds are provided the best available in Oman; where students can practice their skills in taking histories, physical examinations and clinical problem solving in a nurturing environment by role modeling and mentoring family physician faculty; where students recognize the important role of the primary care physicians, especially family practitioners, and where the students can learn and experience the interaction with specialists colleagues.
