MISSION

The mission of the Hematology Department is to offer State-of-the-Art diagnostic, therapeutic, clinical and laboratory services for the people of Oman, as well as advancing research and education in the field of hematology.

VISION

To complement the National Health Care Program by providing State-of-the-Art diagnostic and therapeutic services for all hematological diseases as well as promoting preventative services for hereditary hematological disorders.

 OBJECTIVES

1. To provide state-of-the-art diagnostic facilities for hemoglobinopathies, hemostatic disorders, malignant and non-malignant hematological disorders.

2. To create centers of excellence for comprehensive care of thalassemia and sickle cell disorders.

3. To provide a comprehensive care facility for treatment of hematological malignancies.

4. To provide a cost-effective bone marrow transplant facility of international standards.

5. To impart academic and scientific knowledge by regular continuous medical education programmes of students and faculty in health sciences and allied specialties.

6. To promote clinical and basic science research in hematological disorders in order to enhance the understanding of hematological disorders prevalent in Oman.

7. To complement the various National Health Care Programs organized by Ministry of Health.
