The College of Law is the ninth college in Sultan Qaboos University and aims to qualify students in legal science and foster relationships with society and public and private sectors’ institutions. Below is a summary about its establishment.

The College of Sharia & law was established according to a Royal Decree number (37/97) on 28th May 1997 & was under the supervision of the Ministry of Higher Education.

On 22nd June 2005 a Royal Decree number (55/2005) was issued, which changed the name of the College of Sharia & Law to the College of Law & was affiliated to Sultan Qaboos University effective from the date of completion of its premises on the university campus.

The College of Law was affiliated to Sultan Qaboos University starting from the academic year 2006-2007 according to a Royal Decree number (38/2006), issued on 24th April 2006, provided it continues in its existing premises in Al Wataya.

By 2012 the college had shifted into SQU campus in Alkhodh.
  • Law College team scored the second in the Arabic Moot Court Competition.
