The English Foundation Programme (EFP) curriculum is part of a larger foundation programme curriculum which will be implemented at SQU in Fall 2010.
The foundation programme curriculum consists of four main components, English language, mathematics, computer skills, and study skills.
The EFP curriculum is based on objectives which state the skills and strategies that learners are expected to acquire upon completing the programme. It reflects what students need to learn in order to succeed at the university.
The EFP consists of six proficiency levels. Each level has its own set of objectives and materials. There is a gradual increase in difficulty from one EFP level to the next. However, the six levels should be seen more like a continuum rather than discrete levels.
