EFP » Programme Structure

When students first come to the University, they are given a Placement Test and then allocated to one of the five levels of the EFP, where Level 2 is the lowest level and Level 6 the highest. (No students are allocated to Level 6 initially.)  Each Level is an 8-week course, so students normally progress through the levels at a rate of 2 per semester.  The route that students follow is therefore like this:

FALL 1
FALL 2
SPRING 1
SPRING 2
SUMMER
FALL 1
FALL 2
ROUTE A
Level 1
Level 2
Level 3
Level 4
Level 5
Level 6
Credit
ROUTE B
Level 2
Level 3
Level 4
Level 5
Level 6

ROUTE C
Level 3
Level 4
Level 5
Level 6
Accelerated 8-week Credit Courses
ROUTE D
Level 4
Level 5
Level 6
Accelerated 8-week Credit Courses
ROUTE E
Level 5
Level 6
Credit Courses

The routes above assume that a student progresses without repeating any given level.  If a student must repeat a level, his or her route changes to the one listed immediately above it.  For example, if a student starts in Route D but fails level 500 in FALL 1, he or she will become a Route C student in FALL 2.
