Total Number of Courses = 32

Each course is conducted over a semester of 17 weeks which include assessments. The categories of courses are intended to form a sequence from general introductory courses to discipline related courses ranging from an intermediate level to opportunities for advanced level. It is also a case of English for special purposes / academic purposes. For each of the courses, the rationale, objectives, teaching materials, teaching / learning strategies and assessments are identified.

The choice of particular texts and teaching/learning strategies is left to the individual course teachers. While taking such courses, students will be exposed to a wide range of methodological approaches and experiences through lectures, discussions, collaborative learning, ultimately leading to independent learning.  In the process, students cover a range of subject matter with much practice in the use of the English language. Each course fulfils these requirements and expects the students to reflect on the content concept through the application of study skills learned. The assessment of students’ achievement in the English language skills range over written and non-written tasks as indicated in individual courses.  Upon successful completion of each course, the students gain credit (usually 3), which adds up to their total gained major credits.
