The Sultanate of Oman, like some other developing

During the past twenty years health care in Oman has
received a high priority and continues to do so. From a
single hospital at Muttrah in 1970, today Oman has about
47 hospitals. The estimated population of Oman is about
two million. Along with the primary and secondary health
are services, tertiary specialities like Neurosurgery
which have come a long way. The Department of
Neurosurgery which did not exist until 1987, today has
established itself in the field of speciality care.

Rhino-entomophthoromycosis is a fungal infection of the
nasal mucosa caused by the fungus entomophthora coronata
belonging to the genera of phycomycetes. Causes usually
present with nasal obstruction. This is the first case
from the Sultanate of Oman according to the data
available in the histopathology laboratory of Khoula
Hospital.
