Summary: Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma (NHL) is the fifth most common malignancy worldwide,
and the fourth most common cancer in Oman. There are important differences in
the histological sub-types, clinical features, and outcomes of NHL in developing compared to the developed countries. These differences may arise from differences in patient-related factors (immunodepression),environment-related factors (infective etiology) and/or disease-related factors (activation of oncogenes, deletion of tumour suppressor genes). Hence research in developing countries would provide
insights into the pathogenesis of NHL. The proposed study is a step in this direction.
