The college encourages the faculty and administration to get involved in subtle innovations that make the attainment of our vision a reality.In the areas of research, the College through the office of the Assistant Dean for Postgraduate Affairs and Research has undertaken thetwo main innovative projects:
- Creation of Specialized Research Groups: This innovation entails research groups consisting of senior faculty workingwith junior faculty.Under the guidance of a PhD faculty, the research group workson aspecializedresearch area. The teams are encouraged to worktogetherwith special focus on developing the research capacity of Masters faculty, whose expertise is largely clinical nursing skills. This innovation is expected to increase the participation of the faculty in research and scholarly activities and particularly the publication profile of the College.
- Clinical Omani Nurses Research Capacity Building Project: This innovation comes handy to address the research readiness and skillgap among the clinical Omani nurses currently working in health facilities in the Muscat Governorate and surrounding areas where theundergraduate nursing students go for their clinical placements. This project involves senior faculty at the College of Nursingtwinningwith Omani clinical practice nurses with the aim of mentoring and trainingthem in the discipline of nursing and health research.
