Women in Oman : additionally to routine Obs & Gyn , there is maternal and fetal medicine, high risk pregnancy clinic, reproductive endocrinology, infertility,pre malignant cervical changes and diabetes.
Diagnostic methods i.e.. ultrasound, abdominal as well as vaginal, hysteroscopy, laparoscopy, colposcopy are available as well as abdominal and vaginal surgeries.
6th and 7th year students are taught in the department. Selected candidates who were chosen for postgraduate training in Obs & Gyn are trained in the department before going to Canada to complete the training . The staff of the department is involved in research, CME is organised weekly as well as neonatal meetings, where complicated obs cases are discussed with the neonatologists.
