This study aims at identifying the role of the Ministry of Education in the management of the intellectual capital in the Sultanate of Oman. The study is concerned with discovering the significant differences attributed to gender academic qualification, job title, and number of years of experience. The study provided recommendations and procedures to upgrade the standard of the role of the Ministry of Education in the management of intellectual capital in the Sultanate of Oman.
To achieve the study's aims, the study adopted the descriptive approach as it and objectives. The researcher used a questionnaire that was distributed to a sample of 270 directors of departments, assistant directors and section of the Ministry's as well of education the general educational directorates of the governorates of Muscat, Dakhilya, Batinah North and Batinah South.
The questionnaire consisted of two sections. The first section included terminologies of the study's and the variables. The second section consisted of three themes. The first theme addressed human capital issues, The second theme dealt with the organizational capital and the third covered the relationships capital.
After data analysis using Statistical Package Social Sciences (SPSS), the study revealed the following:
- The study samples estimated the role of the Ministry of Education in the management of the intellectual capital was within a medium rate.
- There were no statistically significance differences, which attributed to the effect of gender, academic qualifications, years of experience and job title in all themes.
In the light of the educational literature review and the outcomes of the study, recommendations and procedures of management of the intellectual capital at the ministry of education were provided.
