Department Functions

1.  Apply postgraduate regulations on registration, withdrawal, postponement, extension, probation, thesis seminars and defence, and graduation

2.     Development of operational plans and suggestions to apply the objectives of Deanship of postgraduate studies relevant to the academic affairs of students

3.     Follow-up on academic performance of postgraduate students with colleges and external units, including employers

4.   Supervise the procedure of thesis defence sessions and masters and doctoral comprehensive examinations in coordination with colleges

5.     Monitor students’ graduation

6.     Update and secure postgraduate student records and maintain confidentiality

7.     Issuance of letters "To Whom it May Concern" in relation to academic affairs of students

8.     Any other works assigned to the Department by the Dean

Registration Section

1.     Follow-up on academic performance of postgraduate students with colleges

2.     Course registration

3.     Finalize the postponement procedures for students

4.     Finalize the withdrawal procedures for students

5.     Supervise the procedures for study extension

6.     Update students' academic data in the SIS

7.     Follow-up on grade entry & changes

Records Section

1.    Receipt of files from new students admitted to the University and review, organize and save such files

2.     Secure students' records in an electronic archive system

3.     Receipt of forms, letters and documents for students and save them in their files

Graduation Section

1.   Supervise the procedure of thesis defence sessions and masters and doctoral comprehensive examinations in coordination with colleges

2.  Ensure that degree requirements are met and that satisfactory thesis format is followed on completion of studies for graduation

3.     Issuance of  the Graduation Letter

4.     Modify the year of graduation in the SIS

5.     Modify any changes in students' degree plans in the SIS during their studies
