Vision

To be a unit where continuous and measurable quality improvement of the whole university is in service and benchmarking against quality standards is a well spread culture over all SQU community.

Mission

The mission of the Quality Assurance Office at SQU is to supervise and enhance the quality of educational and administrative performance and to reinforce the quality culture in the University.

Objectives

The objectives of the QAO are:

  1. Supervise and update the Continuous Quality Improvement Processes (CQIP) at SQU.

  2. Spread the culture of quality improvement among staff and students at SQU.

  3. Achieve and maintain SQU accreditation by the Oman Academic Accreditation Authority (OAAA).

  4. Provide expertise regarding quality and accreditation for all units of the University.

Responsibilities

The main responsibilities of the QAO are:

  1. Lead the development and implementation of the quality management and continuous quality improvement processes for the University.

  2. Deliver better integrated planning, reporting, stakeholder feedback, statistical and quality management services across the University.

  3. Spread and reinforce the quality culture within the whole University.

  4. Provide information on training courses on quality improvement procedures for staff.

  5. Support all units within the University in audit, review and benchmarking processes.

  6. Achieve and maintain the University accreditation by the OAAA.

  7. Setup and support a good practice database and forum.

  8. Promote the staff awards’ system to recognize excellence and quality works.
