 Established
in September 1995, the Department of Computer Science is the
youngest department of the College of Science. As part of its
mission, the department has emphasized three main goals: (1) to
provide the highest quality undergraduate and graduate education
within the rapidly evolving fields of computer science, (2) to
conduct research in computer science and its many application
areas, and (3) to provide a source for computer science
expertise to the Omani society. All resources are geared towards
attaining these goals.
The department enjoys a
modern infrastructure in terms of computing facilities with
specialized research labs, well integrated networks, and a
variety of computing platforms including Windows, Linux and Unix
laboratories. In addition, faculty members are involved in
maintaining international collaboration with prominent
international universities and research institutions. Take a
