The
department has developed and maintained over the years a solid
curriculum for its BSc in Computer Science program, using as
references
IEEE and ACM guidelines and ABET accreditation criteria.
Undergraduate computer science students have access, through
instruction and laboratory experiences, to a wide range of
subjects in different areas of computer science including:
systems and networking, software engineering, multimedia and
graphics, intelligent systems, and Internet computing. The
program includes industrial summer training in government and
private institutions as well as a final year project offering
senior students training in solving real-life problems and
preparing them for their upcoming professional life.
Our BSc in Computer Science program is continuously improved to
offer the best possible experience for students. The Department
is currently preparing for ABET accreditation of its BSc in
Computer Science program.
Our
MSc in Computer Science program provides an avenue suitable for
deepening academic knowledge and advocating research activities
in various fields of Computer Science. This program serves the
needs of the local society in terms of highly qualified IT
professionals. It also provides students with advanced knowledge
and skills that enable them to pursue doctoral degrees in
computer science or related fields if desired.

The MSc program involves one year of course work and one year of
research work. The course work component provides advanced
in-depth study of various subjects in different computer science
areas including software engineering, systems, intelligent
systems, multimedia and graphics, and Internet computing. The
research component aims at developing the students' ability to
work effectively on a challenging topic: to research alternative
solutions, develop a solution, and to evaluate both the
usefulness of the solution and the process that lead to it.
