In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
We want to welcome our students from different places in Oman as well as from other countries who enrolled in the college of engineering. You should be one of the best and brightest secondary school graduates.
The College of Engineering has grown rapidly since its start in 1986 and currently the student population has increased to 2646 students during the academic year 2010-2011, compared to only 92 students in 1986. Amongst these students there are about 605 female students.
One of the principal missions of this College is to provide students with a quality engineering education. Our strategy to best achieve this mission is to:
- improve undergraduate programs in both teaching and learning methods;
- upgrade course content, books, computers and laboratory facilities continuously to cope with new technology;
- enhance students’ professional abilities for analytical and imaginative thought;
- build strong link with the governmental and private sectors.
The Assistant Dean for Student Academic Affairs Office directs students in all affairs related to their educational progress such as, registration, add and drop, course substitution, appointing student advisor, updating student files, withdraw, etc.
The role of the student advisor is to assist, advice and guide the student in the proper direction such that he/she is progressing efficiently towards his/her graduation in his/her chosen specialization. On the other hand, the student has to be aware with the University academic regulations, and must take responsibility in planning and monitoring his/here academic progress.
The admission and registration web site can be accessed through the address http://sisinfo.squ.edu.om. Students are strongly encouraged to visit this web site on regular basis in order to update themselves with the academic regulations and matters concerning their academic affairs.
We wish our students all the success during their stay at the College of Engineering and prosperous future after graduation.
