Department Functions

1.  Supervise the implementation of  the University’s rules and regulations, which relate to admission of postgraduate students

2.   Develop action plans and make appropriate suggestions to implement the objectives of the Deanship of Postgraduate Studies which relate to admission

3.   Coordinate with colleges to determine which programs will be offered and the applications schedule

4.     Oversee the process for  admission of postgraduate students

5.     Establish degree certificate equivalence  for applicants

6.     Issuance of students ID cards for postgraduate students

7.     Enter applicants’ information in the Students Information System (SIS)

8.     Prepare statistical reports

9.      Provide technical support to the Deanship

10.   Any additional work entrusted by the Dean

Admission Section

1.     Responding to all kind of inquiries about admission

2.     Communicate with colleges to determine which programs will be offered and determine the mechanism for acceptance

3.     Receiving new applications

4.     Make degree equivalence of academic certificates for potential postgraduate candidates

5.     Enter and vision students’ information in the Students’ Information System

6.     Receive and enter admission results in the Students’ Information System and prepare letters of acceptance to admitted students and notify those that were rejected

7.     Provide data about admission and prepare statistical reports

8.     Issuance of  students’ ID card to postgraduate students

Statistics Section

1.     Prepare statistical reports about postgraduate studies

2.     Provide statistical data to concerned departments in the University

3.     Provide annual statistics about postgraduate studies

Information Technology Support Section

1.     Liaise with Center of Information System on Students’ Information System management

2.     Provide technical support to computer users

3.     Developing and updating computers and software

4.     Coordinate with other departments in order to improve Students’ Information System

5.     Examine and identify the needs of the Deanship for operating systems and databases
