The section strives to achieve the following goals:
- Regulating and facilitating the participation of the university’s faculty members in internal and external conferences
- Introducing mechanisms that would facilitate the processing of conference attendance applications
- Speeding up and streamlining the processing of conference attendance applications
- Building a data base of research papers which are presented by the university’s faculty members at internal and external conferences
- Prioritizing and sustaining the online electronic processing of applications
- Providing technical support for the electronic system to minimize any problems encountered by the system users.
The section is entrusted with the following duties:
- Regulating conference attendance
- in accordance with the operating rules and regulations of conference attendance and based on various sources of funding available for applicants from the different colleges and centers
- by providing the university, colleges, centers, and other concerned departments with the information needed about conferences
- by evaluating the conference participations of academics and their equivalent through their reports submitted to the section.
- Running the online electronic system
- Ensuring the efficient operation of the system
- Regularly surveying system users for better functioning
- Technical support
- Providing technical support to administrative and academic system users
- Administering the system and solving any technical problem
- Supervising and regularly updating the DAPO’s homepage on the university’s website
