Praise be to Allah who made us know our guiding light, and peace and blessings to the Prophet Mohammed (PBUH), the teacher of humanity and of his companions in his campaign to light the flame of learning and knowledge.
Higher education plays an important role in the development of a society, and expands the horizons of knowledge, while cultural functions are determined by universities through three basic functions; namely, education, scientific research, and community service. No longer is the role of universities limited to academic studies and scientific certification, but they can now contribute to the graduation of people who have scientific knowledge; who can be trained to work in many fields and disciplines, and for this reason the office of the Assistant Dean for Training and Community Service has been established, as this has become a mainstay in all universities.
The concept of community service is closely linked to the actual needs of the community, and is based on the principle that not only academic concepts should be focused on: The Office of the Assistant Dean for Training and Community Service will also work in the area of the professional development of faculty members, and this represents a fundamental objective that the university seeks to provide: namely to keep its staff abreast of all new developments in science and technology.
In the training - which represents the melting pot of the outcomes of student knowledge taught under the curriculum - we seek to provide student training of both types: mandatory and voluntary, thereby providing students with the skills and training programs that meet the needs of the labor market. The Office of the Assistant Dean for Training and Community Service will provide a link between the academic departments at the college and the expectations of public and private training. This office also oversees the College website which is updated on an ongoing basis, and it follows the work of researchers and students and from both within and outside the university.
Finally, Community Service and Training are not for the gain of the one at the expense of other, but are for the mutual benefit of the university and of the outside community, while the Office of the Assistant Dean seeks to link the Training and Community Service segments of society, efficiently and effectively.
