Research in the Department constitutes an important activity for which faculty, technicians and students dedicate a lot of time and effort to continuously improve it.

The Department of Civil and Architectural Engineering has always been at the forefront of research in different areas of Civil and Environmental  Engineering. The faculty, staff and students are constantly engaged in research activities- both of academic and industrial interests. The main areas of current expertise are: structures; materials; highway and pavements; soils; recycling; water resources and environment; waste management; housing; historic preservation; and remote sensing.
