Accreditation
In order to assure quality control, the department is going through preparations for accreditation by an international agency.
Routine activities are also established for this purpose and an extensive work is going on for both programs (PNGE and CHPE). Procedures and tools are developed by the Department to assess program outcomes and evaluate objectives. Some of the main features are:
1) The department mode is now based on Student Learning.
2) The stakeholders have a pronounced input into all the operations of the department.
3) The tools developed by the Department are used in few universities.
4) Thorough Self Study Reports are prepared for the two programs.
In 2005 Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering Program was substantially accredited by ABET organization. In Fall 2008, Chemical and Process Engineering will be assessed by ABET team for possible accreditation.
