Degree Plans

All programs in the College of Engineering follow the same degree requirements, which are classified into three categories involving University, College and Departmental requirements.  

Since its restructuring in 2002, the Department has gone through several updates to its degree plans to improve the quality of the  program.  The major changes were related mainly to the basic science and courses, which have been increased in order to meet accreditation (ABET) requirements. The numerical methods course was made compulsory on all students to take. This was necessary to meet the math courses accreditation requirements. An engineering economy course was also introduced. The capstone design project will be offered over two semesters.
To graduate, a student is required to complete a total of 140 credit hours resulting in the award of a Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Civil Engineering.
