Student-based societies provide students with opportunities to learn, promote 21st century skills, and share their experiences and knowledge to develop academically, socially, and professionally. Ultimate goal of the societies are to promote research, industrial collaboration, and innovation in Oman and prepare individuals to become contributing members of the community and the world. The societies organize and host events such as seminars, conferences, exhibitions, and workshops. The Department encourages the students to join such organizations and to participate events.
Industrial Engineering Society, IES
The Industrial Engineering Society was founded in 1999. Since its establishment, it has been working towards polishing the skills of its members and in enhancing their experience in the field of Industrial Engineering by conducting seminars, workshops, and a variety of social and community service events. The Society tries to build up the qualities of leadership and teamwork in its members, and develops creative communication skills, which are the pillars of a successful engineer.
INDUSTRIAL ENGINEERING GATHERING
Industrial Engineering Gathering is a Forum held annually in SQU. The objective of the gathering is to highlight the way of the potential relationship between industrial engineering and the practical world, displaying the reality of employment for industrial Engineers in various sectors inside and outside the Sultanate of Oman.
CHARITY EVENT
In cooperation with charity associations, Industrial engineering society arranges a charity event in one of the Capital Malls. All the benefits out of the event supports the association donation works. Various activities are held for different ages.
