Registration Guidelines for External Participants (Sponsored & Non-sponsored)
1. All courses listed on the registration form are open to external participants in accordance with entry requirements.

2. Registration forms should be fully completed, signed by the Head of Department and the sponsor (in case of sponsored participant) and submitted preferably six weeks before the course starts.

3. All sponsoring institutions will be issued with invoices as follows:
     • for the course fee on completion of the course
     • for the cost of the books for the course
     • for failure to attend without any written advance notification as per article 6
     • for failure to attend as per articles 7 / 8
All non sponsored participants will be issued with receipts for payments

4. Participants, who are non sponsored must pay the course fee and cost of books in advance along with the registration form.

5. Participants must collect the books from the Training Directorate prior to attending the course on production of sponsors letter (sponsored participant) or payment receipt (non-sponsored participant).

6. Sponsored participants who do not attend a course without any advance notification will be charged the full course fee and their sponsor will be accordingly invoiced.

7. Non-sponsored participants, who do not attend a course without advance notification in writing would not be refunded the course fee but may be allowed to re-book a seat for the next available course and complete it within a period of six months, failure to do so will result in forfeiting the course fee.

8. Sponsored participants who do not attend a course must notify Training Directorate in writing in advance and resheduling of the course may be arranged, if possible. Otherwise the sponsor will be invoiced for administrative charges amounting to 25% of the course fee and the full cost of the course books, if the books have been issued.

9. Non-sponsored participants who wish to withdraw from a course should submit a letter requesting refund at least 14 (fourteen) days prior to the commencement of the course. Administrative charges amounting to 25% of the course fee will be deducted from the refund.

10. A participant will be allowed to resit for a written test twice only, without additional payment of fee, thereafter full course has to be repeated. If a participant has to repeat a course, the full course fee will be charged.

11. In case of any cancellation of a course by Training Directorate, the participants will be informed accordingly of the rescheduled dates of the course.

12. Either of the following certificates will be issued to participants on completion of the course:
     • Course Completion Certificate
     • Course Attendance Certificate

 

Registration Guidelines for Internal Participants
1. All course attendance requires a completed registration form by the course participant, signed by the Head of Department/Head Nurse and forwarded to the Training Directorate (TD) at least six weeks before the course starts
2. In case a participant is unable to attend due to unavoidable circumstances, TD should be notified in advance by the HoD/Head Nurse.
3. TD reserves the right to place an individual staff on a waiting list with low priority after a cancellation

4. Continuous cancellations will lead to discussion between TD and the concerned HoD/Head Nurse regarding the eligilibility of the concerned staff to register for a further course.

5. It is recommended to pay and obtain the course books from the Training Directorate prior to attending the course and come well prepared.
6. Resheduling a course requires a new registration form with approval of the HoD/Head Nurse.

7. Staff, who wishes to register for courses, which are not directly pertinent to their work, will be registered for a course only on payment of the course fee as well as attending on their own time.

8. Heads of Departments should only approve course attendance for theirstaff if the course is directly pertinent to the work in their departments. 

 

Un-scheduled In-house Training Program Guideline
These courses will be organized by the Training Directorate at SQUH after receiving an evaluation of all SQUH departments training needs.The course will be conducted according to the hospital requirements and the availability of sufficient budget, number of candidates and other resources. The requesting departments will need to supply the following to the TD:
Aims of the training/ course program required
Objectives
Detailed course information, including proposed date and time.
Lecturer (CV)
List of nominees
Any other requirements ie. stationary, lecture hall, AV aids, meals
The TD will announce the program after receiving HTC and Top Management approval and financial commitment.

 

External Short-term Development Program 

These programs will be mentioned in the departmental annual training needs. TD will provide them when possible according to availability of resources and priority will be given to local institutions.

 

 Scholarship: Undergraduate & Post Graduate:
TD will receive the initial circular from CSD ( SQU) announcing the scholarship nomination once a year according to SQU policies. TD will circulate information within SQUH.
All applicants must collect the appropriate forms in TD in person and submit them typed with all the listed requirements before the announced deadline.
