Extension:
	The Extension and service activities by the Department of Natural Resource Economics included training activities for government personnel and students. A staff member participated in a training workshop conducted by the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries for rural women extension agents. Our faculty member teaching the agricultural extension methods and techniques course took students on several field trips to introduce them to the role of extension in Oman. Service and extension activities undertaken by the Department include: extension experience in other countries, role of data collection; introduction to the role of agricultural extension in Oman; workshop on bookkeeping records for small farmers; workshop to discuss departmental program and activities; study on the evaluation of extension programs in Arab universities; presentation on fish marketing during College Farm Day etc.
