This course is mandatory for all clinical and paramedical staff in the Hospital working in acute clinical settings. Open to external participants

This course follows the recommended international standards for Advanced Cardiac Life Support last updated in December 2005. A course book (AHA ACLS Text book & CD for Health Care providers) must be purchased from the Training Directorate and reviewed prior attending the course.

The price includes issue of a ACLS pocket card.
-
Staff who are not working in acute settings must attend a full ACLS Provider Course every second year to keep ACLS provider status.

The re-certification reviewing and testing the skills in Adult, Pediatric CPR & AED skills, Airway management and mega code. Re-certification in ACLS is due every second year.

This course is open to external experienced ACLS providers.

Basic Life Support Instructor Program

Health Care Providers from SQUH or other Health Care Institutions |

The course will provide candidates with the knowledge and skills required to teach/instruct basic life support effectively.
-
The initial theory part will be conducted in connection with the scheduled Basic Life Support Provider Course and Further observation and assessment will be conducted on same days as BLS Provider courses. The program is modeled on the AHA format for instructor program.
-
After completion of the initial the instructor should teach minimum 2 courses a year and re-certify as an instructor every second year.
-
The instructor must attend the Instructor re-certification program in the Training Directorate for the candidates.
-
This includes candidates from other Institution, who wish to continue to have instructor status certified by SQUH.
