8: ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) Provider – Mandatory for all doctors and nurses in A&E, ICU/CCU, ANA/Recovery; all doctors grade
Registrar and below in Dept. Medicine; all doctors and shift charge nurses in BMT*; all doctors and nurse-in-charge and deputy nurse-in-charge
in FAMCO*
Optional but recommended for all SQUH doctors not in mandatory group, especially those in CPH and RAD who are involved in high risk
procedures; Nursing Coordinators; nurses in CPH/RAD involved in cardiac stress testing/invasive cardiac procedures
9: ACLS Recertification – Mandatory every 2 years for all above staff except those marked *, and those in “Optional” category who must attend
a Provider course 2 yearly to maintain certification
10: PALS (Paediatric Advanced Life Support) Provider – Mandatory for all doctors in CHD; all doctors and nurses in ANA/Recovery and A&E;
all nurses in PICU; all shift charge nurses in 1B, 1P, 2B; all doctors and shift charge nurses in BMT
Optional but recommended for nurses in 1B, 1P, 2B, BMT other than above; doctors and nurse-in-charge and deputy nurse-in- charge in
FAMCO
