The Department of Child Health has grown in terms of patient services at every level in the past one year.  The Department handles one third of all hospital admissions and one fourth of all A&E patient visits. The Department caters to all specialty patients including Pediatric Hematology/Oncology, Neurology, Nephrology, Immunology & Allergy, Genetic and Metabolic Diseases, Rheumatology, Endocrinology, Gastro-enterology, Respiratory Diseases and Cardiology.  The total number of beds allotted to the department stands as 112 (1 Blue –24, 1 Purple –20, 2 Blue –24, NICU –16, Postnatal –24, PICU –4). There were a total of 7561 admissions to the various pediatric, pediatric intensive care, neonatal and postnatal units surpassing the previous year’s total of 6386 by 18%. 8972 children came to the various pediatric and neonatal clinics last year.
