  • Diagnostic Services: Around 300 samples per year from SQUH, RH, and other government & private hospitals. Specimens include; tissue biopsies, blood samples, serum and supernatant, tissue cultures, sputum, fluids and loose cells (e.g. nasal brush).

  • Research/Student projects work: The unit has engaged in over 20 research projects in the last 16 months. These include PhD, Masters, B.Sc. and academic research projects. Examples of research projects:

    • Multi organ structural study of the effects of a combination of ACE inhibitors and exercise in spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHR) – a stereological approach. Research, Ibrahim Inuwa, Department of Anatomy, College of Medicine.
