Education and Publication:
As the Sultan Qaboos University Hospital (SQUH) is a teaching institution, the department pays a lot of attention on these aspects. Therapists have teaching and education responsibilities in the hospital, which includes teaching 5th year Medical Students, Medical Orderlies, Nursing staff and Physiotherapy Students from the Institute of Health Sciences. Staff are also involved in giving in-service lectures as a continuing education on a weekly basis in the department.
The department publishes the “Scientific Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Newsletter” twice a year, which was started in 2003. It runs various specialized courses per year and holds international conferences. We also hold a yearly exhibition "Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Day" in the hospital that aims at awareness and education of the professional staff and the public about our services in the hospital and the community.
