The department continued to train Family and Community Medicine residents and contributed to revising programmes for the examination for Membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners (MRCGP), the Arab Board of Psychiatry and the Oman Medical Specialty Board (OMSB) in residency training program. Also important are teaching and learning in Omani society, medical and psychiatric education, emerging behavioural problems and psychiatric trends in Omani society, criminal responsibility in relation to mental illness, unemployment, drug addiction and substance abuse and mental disorders in children and adolescents.
