About Us

Sultan Qaboos University has been committed to quality and excellence since its inception in 1986. There have been quite a significant number of processes which were established to assure quality in all SQU’s activities. Some of the SQU Colleges have already gone through international accreditation processes and have established well structured and documented continuous quality improvement processes. Most of quality assurance activities at SQU were handled by committees even though there was a central Quality Assurance Office under the Vice Chancellor which was already planned in the initial SQU organizational chart but has never been activated.  In February 2010, the SQU central Quality Assurance Office was activated through Circular (Qarar) No. 275/2010 appointing Prof. Adel Gastli as the Director of this Office.
