Office of the Assistant Dean for Postgraduate Studies & Research (ADPGSR) is responsible for coordinating the admission and registration process of postgraduate students with the Deanship of Admission & Registration and the Deanship of Postgraduate Studies. Office of the ADPGSR and the College Postgraduate committee are responsible in coordinating efforts to run and improve postgraduate programs, increase the number of postgraduate students, and facilitate funding resources for College of Science (CoS) postgraduate students.

The college of Science (CoS) has 10 postgraduate programs in the disciplines of Biology, Environmental Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Earth Sciences, Hydrogeology, Pure and Applied Math’s, Statistics, and Physics. The  CoS has one PhD program in the Department of Earth Sciences. The college postgraduate programs are aimed at serving various sectors that include government, private, and international companies. Examples of CoS MSc programs graduates are working with Petroleum Development Oman, Ministry of Higher Education, Directorate of Water Resources. is aimed at providing some assistance and guidance to the new and registered postgraduate student procedures and deadlines in the University and the

Current MSc programs in the College of Science are 2 years period  and full time. The general objective of these programs is to enhance the academic background of the postgraduate student through 24 credit hours course work and train the student in research skills in the form of a 6 credit hours research project submitted at the end of the second year of the program.
