Postgraduate Courses Online Registration Announcement – Spring 2012

The Deanship of Postgraduate Studies announces to all postgraduate students enrolled in bridging, masters or doctoral programs that the dates for registering courses and thesis online for Spring 2012 will start on 7th January, 2012. You must abide by the registration dates and the following instructions must be followed to facilitate the process:

1.  Students who do not have password to login for online registration, can click on the link “get password”  on the following page http://sis.squ.edu.om and the username will be the student’s ID number prefixed with the letter S ( example s5295).

2.  To learn how to use the registration system, please visit the website: http://sis.squ.edu.om

3.  Registration will be open for students for 24 hours starting with his/her first registration activity, from 7/1/2012 to 1/2/2012.

4.  Technical support will be available during registration period from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm by calling 24145914, 24145906 or by sending an e-mail to dps_acad@squ.edu.om.

5.  Personnel from the Finance Department will be available in the Deanship of Postgraduate Studies from 11/2/2012 to 22/2/2012 for payment of tuition fees.

6.  Student registration will be canceled automatically, if he\she did not pay  the required fees before the end of day on 22/2/2012.

7.  Some of registered courses will be canceled automatically, if the student did not register for the required course load.

8.  Students who are under probation cannot register online. They will be registered in the Deanship of Postgraduate Studies from 4/2/2012 to 8/2/2012. 

9.  Please make sure that you do not have any of the following conditions prior to registration, as this will stop your registration:

1.     Encumbrance of textbooks.

2.     Encumbrance of tuition fees.

3.     Requirement for extension of study period.

4.     Requirement to withdraw for academic reasons.

5.     Did not register for the last two semesters.

b.   Did not register in Fall 2011 after the postponement of studies in the previous semester, Spring  2011.

10. In the following cases, please refer to the timetabling coordinator  in your department or college or consult with the Program’s Coordinator, Head of the Department or the Assistant Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Research in the college during the add and drop period that starts on 4th February 2012 and ends on 8th February 2012:

1.     Course not offered in the system.

2.     Conflict among courses.

3.     No seats are available.

11. In the absence of available seats, students must be authorized through the Student Information System (SIS) to be able to register.
