Admission Requirements:
General Admission Requirements:
-
Applicants for programs taught in the Colleges of Agricultural & Marine Sciences (Curriculum & Method of Teaching English Language) should submit an English proficiency test result or certificate with a score of at least 550 in TOEFL or higher (or equivalent in the new versions), or 6.0 in academic IELTS, with a minimum of 5 in each of its components. Students will not be registered in postgraduate courses before they attain the required level of English Language.

Applicants for studies conducted in morning sessions should submit release letters from their employers for the duration of the program. Applicants for studies conducted in evening sessions should submit a “no objection” certificate from their employers.

Tuition fees will apply to postgraduate studies. The fees depend on the specialization taken. Those accepted with fees should submit a proof of financial support.

Applicants who satisfy the admission requirements will be invited to assessment interviews.

Ministry of Education staff should contact their ministry for nomination. No application will be considered without approval of the Ministry.
Doctoral Programs Admission Requirements:

The applicant should have a Masters or a Medical Doctor degree from a recognised higher education institution with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00 on a 4.00 point scale or equivalent in the masters program, or:

In the case of an applicant from a system not using a 4-point GPA scale, whose cumulative GPA is equivalent to less than 3.00 and above 2.75, work experience and any other academic activity during or beyond the masters degree may be taken into consideration, subject to the approval of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Postgraduate Studies & Research.

The applicant should submit a statement on the objectives and goals for enrolment in the doctoral program.

The applicant should submit three letters of reference, at least two from academics, to show competence in the discipline of interest and research capability.
Masters Programs Admission Requirements:
The applicant should have an undergraduate degree from a recognized University or equivalent institution, with a cumulative GPA of at least 2.75 on a 4-point scale (B average or Very Good) or equivalent grade. An applicant whose cumulative GPA is between 2.50 and 2.74 on a 4-point scale or equivalent may be considered for Conditional Admission. In such cases, relevant work experience and any other activities beyond the first degree may be taken into consideration to assess the applicant’s potential to perform well at a higher level.
General Requirements for Scholarships for Masters Programs:

The applicant must fulfill all acceptance conditions required by the postgraduate program (unconditional acceptance).

The applicant for masters scholarships should have a first degree with a CGPA of at least 3.00 on a 4.00 point scale or equivalent.

All candidates for full teaching and research scholarships must be full time students, and they must participate in academic work as per the scholarship regulations.

Make a registration fees payment of 10 Omani Rials to any of bank Muscat branches. This amount is non-refundable.

Submit the hard copy of application form endorsed by bank Muscat to Deanship of Admissions & Registration at SQU.
Candidates should complete an Application Form at the Deanship of Admission and Registration with the following documents:

Four recent photos with blue background with the name written on the back.
