Mission

 To conduct high quality research on strategic water related issues by coordinating research facilities and expertise at SQU, national and international institutions.

To effectively disseminate research findings to the community, public and private sectors.

Objectives

 Identify water related research challenges in Oman, and secure research support funds from public and private sources to carry out required research

Secure consultancy opportunities for SQU faculty with the public and private sectors

Encourage SQU researchers to initiate and execute water research

Assist SQU faculty to identify undergraduate and postgraduate research opportunities in the water sciences and engineering

Initiate and expand student intern opportunities with private and public sectors in water related fields

Initiate and participate in the design and execution of national and international seminars, conferences, symposia, workshops and short courses on water issues related to the Sultanate, Gulf countries and the world at large .

Build a database of information about water related issues.

Maintain publication series that synthesize and report on water policy, science and engineering issues
